| ABOUT
OUR BIRDS
The UK's only naturalised parrot - it is large,
long-tailed and green with a red beak and a pink
and black ring around its face and neck. In flight
it has pointed wings, a long tail and very steady,
direct flight. Often found in flocks, numbering
hunderds at a roost site, it can be very noisy.
Here are a few of the parakeets we breed in our
aviaries. |
 |
| Pied
Ringnecks normally reproduce apart from the
african form. The male does not have a "ring" around
it's neck like other mutatins. We have a green,
blue and lace wing pieds. You must remember
pied are recessive! |
|
 |
Golden
Cherry (opaline)
Something different in ringnecked mutations. They are recessive, show more colour
when young, but a double factor will hold colour better. We have bred 2 in 2006. |
|
 |
Recessive
Yellow
We
have a selection of this mutation. Trying to produce
a mutation with a pink head we have bred 2 birds with
15% approx pink feature on their head. We have also
bred recessive yellow buttercup & recessive green
yellow buttercups. |
|
 |
| In
our aviaries we also bred cobalt/violet, white
headed white tailed buttercups, black eyed yellow,
browns (I like to call them chocolate) suffused
blue and pastes suffused. |
